John & Andrea.... Surprise Gretna Wedding!

I got ready for my wedding in the usual way camera batteries were charged everything was checked and checked again and although there was only going to be John and Andrea at this wedding I had a knot in my stomach. I think this was because I was nervous for my new clients who I was going to be photographing they were very nervous and I was feeling a bit that way too!

Nobody knew that solicitor John and Andrea who live in Alnwick were getting married, their family knew they were doing something but not this ....running away to Gretna Green! We all had nothing to worry about as we hit it off great and after half an hour they started to relax and I started getting the pictures that I wanted! Once married at the Gretna Hall Blacksmiths in Gretna Green we headed back to the award winning Smiths Hotel.

I know that you thought about the little white chapel in Vegas but changed your mind! Enjoy the slideshow and your surprise destination honeymoon Andrea which I believe turned out to be the Seychelles... FABULOUS!

Steven & Helen ..Lake District Wedding

The sun was shining when Steven and Helen exchanged their vows with 30 of their close family and friends at the beautiful Inn on the Lake.

These are a few shots I took before the ceremony Helen's simple, elegant gown came from the Wedding Warehouse in Carlisle...

Once married the family photographs were taken in the fantastic grounds of the hotel.

It was nice to photograph such a small party and Steven and Helen won't mind me telling you that they are very shy and were a little nervous about relaxing in front of the camera but I think we cracked it!

Have a wonderful time on the Greek island of Kefalonia!

Adrian & Charlotte....Lots of Fun in the Sun!

Wow what a wedding this was! Everything about this wedding was such good fun, the guests, the couple the venue the reception the sun it was awesome. I love my job and this wedding shows me having a great time capturing a great couple on their special day!

I started taking photographs of Charlotte at her parent's home. Charlotte's mum had decorated the conservatory with bunting, and lots of little details that just were soo pretty, and to top it all off there was a delivery of flowers from Adrian - Charlotte's soon to be husband which made her day!! Let's hope he keeps that up!

Charlotte's parents have a beautiful home and they opted for a marquee in one of their fields which looked stunning with a classy black and white theme. The flowers had been provided by Brenda at Gardenalia who always does a fab job!

Meanwhile Adrian and his pals were recreating a TOP GUN pose in a field nearby. Adrian had 11 ushers and he owns a suit hire company EDWARDS in Penrith so this just had to be done....

A horse and trap arrived to take Charlotte and her father to see all their guests..

A moment before entering the church.

After the ceremony we decided to stop at this field with hay bales for some romantic poses, loved this part!!

Back at the reception all the family photographs were taken, I think the bridesmaids thought I had gone mad when I asked them to lie in the grass but this was what I was trying to create..... hope you like!

I hope you have a great honeymoon and enjoy watching your slideshow, your wedding was a highlight of 2009!

Grant & Lindsey - Naturals!

When I first met Grant and Lindsey I knew that I would get great photographs of this couple as they are just so real, what I mean by this is that they are always themselves and don't try to put on any front. For me this is sooo great because a photographer needs their subject to relax in order to get the best photographs. As with all couples who book myself, I like to meet each couple twice before their wedding, normally at the time they book and a couple of months prior to their wedding. So a few weeks ago I met again with Lindsey and Grant we chatted over coffee about their wedding we discussed their day what they wanted out of their photographs and the weather. Weather was certainly not an issue and I hope the Indian summer continues and shines over the rest of my brides this month!

The morning was a little hectic for Lindsey and her 6 bridesmaids and so we opted for me starting the photographs at Stanwix church. This gave me time to photograph the amazing details in the flowers created by the very talented Derek Armstrong of Bloomsberry....

Lindsey seeing Grant for the first time ...See the look of love!!

The happy couple coming down the aisle so pleased to see all their guests who witnessed them be getting wed!

Those flowers in the church were amazing!! They even matched the decor!

Romantic shots there were so many to choose from....Lindsey's beautiful dress was from Susan at Country Dreams.

This picture I just love because of the mad moment that it was taken in I had an old guy going mental at me as I admit I ever so slightly cut in front of him to get behind the fabulous vintage wedding car (Highams) so Jesse my assistant could get this shot ha ha was well worth it though! Thanks to the Eddie Stobart truck for getting in there!

Back at the Greenhills I reverted back to a very classical pose but I think it is good to have a bit of classical going on every now and then!! The beautiful blue bridesmaids dresses were by DESSY.

After all the family photographs were taken the chocolate fountain was enjoyed by all and so were the flowers which looked stunning!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this amazing wedding and photographing this fantastic couple.

THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING ME! I hope you like the photographs as much as I do!! Have a brilliant honeymoon in San Francisco, Las Vegas and Mexico. Watch their slideshow click here.

Thomas and Leanne.. Fantastic Marquee Wedding!

Last Saturday the pretty town of Dalston was the backdrop for Thomas and Leanne's wedding. As the rain fell we arrived at Thomas' parent's home to find Thomas and his two best men getting ready. Then it was over to see Leanne and the dress, flowers and other details which were beautiful. She chose pinks and silvers as her colour scheme and her white sparkling gown from Russell's looked amazing!

Arriving in style thanks to Silver Lady Wedding Cars Leanne wowed all the onlookers with her style and that perfect smile! Thomas and the guys looked the part as they arrived at church after a quick pint from the nearby Bluebell pub!

After the ceremony we returned to Thomas' parent's home in Dalston they have a beautiful garden complete with a stream and bridge which made a beautiful back drop for their romantic photographs together....

Then it was on to the marquee and the food looked amazing thanks to Ann ParryCatering services who did a wonderful job. The tables were named after places in Dalston and elegant gold fish bowls complete with grasses and peonies were the center piece provided by Flowerworld in Penrith great job guys! Well everyone had a great day we couldn't get the group shot of everyone outside as the grass was a bit wet but after some organising 120 people fitted quite well onto the dance floor!

A great wedding and thanks to Thomas and Leanne for letting us document your special day. Have a great honeymoon in CUBA!! See their Slideshow CLICK HERE!

2010 ONLY A FEW SATURDAY DATES REMAINING!!

Having been a wedding photographer now for fourteen years it is good to know that I feel established in the Carlisle area as someone who is known as a pretty good wedding photographer.

I took a booking today for 2011 and the bride told me that she was recommended to me by her work colleague who was married 6 years ago. This certainly makes me happy that I am remembered after that length of time and I am so pleased that I get my work through recommendations. So thanks to all my clients past and present who keep on spreading the word it is great and I am so happy to receive the thank you cards that I do.

I am very fortunate in that I never have to advertise but I just wanted all my future clients to know that I am now just about fully booked for 2010. I am amazed at the number of weddings that are continuing throughout the course of the year October this year is a busy month for me and it looks like next October will be too. Summer in Britain is certainly unpredictable and it would appear that weddings are not as seasonal as they once were! This is great for me as I am photographing weddings every month of the year. 2011 dates are now been taken and brides are well aware that to get the best venues, and other suppliers you need to get your skates on and book in advance.

Having taken two bookings this week for 2011 I would suggest that you get a move on and don't miss the date you want if you me to document your big day for 2011!
