TYSE & JOANNE 24 May 2009

Everything about last Sunday was perfect when Tyse and Joanne exchanged their vows under the stunning gazebo at Dalston Hall. Joanne and Tyse had around 80 of their close family and friends with them and everyone had a fabulous time. When I arrived I photographed Joanne and her 7 bridesmaids. I have to say that when any bride tells me they have loads of little bridesmaids my heart sinks because it adds another dimension of stress to photographing a wedding! However these little girls were amazing and so well behaved they were a pleasure to photograph and there are some brilliant images of them having fun in the sun! I also learnt a little about Workington tradition with the uppy and downies game which was demonstrated by the bride, groom and their guests.

As usual I started with some of Joanne on her own...

ANDREW & TARA

Andy and Tara have known each other since they were kids they grew up together and went to the same youth club, and last week these childhood sweethearts got married!

I can honestly say what a lovely couple they make and it was a pleasure photographing Andy and Tara they were so easy to work with! They chose an intimate wedding with only their mums and two brothers observing the ceremony which went off perfectly. I started the photograph session at the award winning Smiths hotel in Gretna Green....



Tara was given away by her brother Cain and they travelled in style thanks to Clippity Carriages...





Because the weather was so perfect we hit the beach for some romantic photographs of them together.





I am sure Andy and Tara you had a wonderful honeymoon in Cornwall and I hope the sun shone for you! To see more of this wedding click here.

DAN & JOANNE

Last Saturday I had a great time photographing the wedding of Dan and Joanne now Harrison! They chose the spectacular Armathwaite Hall for their wedding. Joanne's attention to detail was amazing, her flowers looked fab with cascading Lily of the Valley and gold wiring twisting throughout the bouquet. They had been created by the very talented Derek and his team at Bloomsberry in Carlisle.

Armathwaite Hall is full of fabulous features and so I decided to incorporate them into the wedding details that I photographed while Joanne was getting ready....



How high??











Dan and his family are all musicians so I heard that they had a fabulous evening reception and danced the night away.

CRAIG & KELLY 9 MAY 2009

Saturday was a great day despite the wet weather lots of laughter was heard at Craig and Kelly's wedding.
They chose the beautiful Roundthorn hotel set in a fantastic elevated location above Penrith with stunning views across to the Lake District. I started off the photography with some of the details that Kelly chose for her coffee and cream wedding theme.



Kelly's mum was at hand to help her get ready...

It started to rain but that didn't dampen the fun we were having we were even entertained by a fantastic break dancing usher, apologies I don't know his name!

PERFECT CASTLE WEDDING

On Saturday I photographed the wedding of Leighann and Matthew at the amazing Comlongon Castle near Dumfries. It had been a while since I had visited Comlongon Castle and so I was looking forward to returning as the photographic opportunities are always amazing. Everytime I go there they have made new improvements to the impressive grounds which are so well kept. So I started out with Leighann getting ready, she was so laid back, the sun was shining the girls sipped champagne and the day began to unfold...

Leighann I just LOVED your shoes...





It is every girl's dream to marry in a castle...



Corey was pageboy and Leighann's sister was bridesmaid.



Matthew and Leighann you both looked fantastic together and I am currently working on your slideshow and finished photographs which will be available to see on the BUY IMAGES online on by 9 May. Have a wonderful honeymoon in Thailand!

Iohna and Craig ...FUN, FUN, FUN!!

From the first moment Iohna Loots and Craig Mercer booked me to photograph their wedding I was excited. This was a couple who I knew were going to be amazing to work with and I was not wrong!!

I was so happy when I awoke on Saturday to see that the sun was shining - I had it made! Iohna and Craig opted for a civil ceremony just them, and myself and Jesse my assistant were witnesses. With no guests to worry about we shot at two amazing locations close to Gretna Green and we had a fabulous time.
Iohna who is a top class ballet dancer (she performed for Michelle Obama the other week!) with the London Royal Ballet was just an amazing person to photograph, she and her husband laughed all day long and their love for each other has shone through in their photographs. The birds sang, the sun shined and after the shoot Iohna and Craig headed off to the Lake District for a romantic weekend together. Have a great time on your honeymoon in the Maldives and I hope Iohna's parents in Vancouver love the photographs! There are so many beautiful images from this wedding that I found it hard to choose, so to see more of Craig and Iohna see the slideshows page of my website available from 1 MAY.

Then on to a local ruin for some dramatic photographs..







To end the day we went to a field of rapeseed which was amazing!

NEW MADDISON ALBUM PAGES

Improvements have been made to the Maddison Weekday collection album with many new designed pages now available. Here are a few pages that I have been working on for Lyndsey and Grant who were married at Lodore Falls. A brand new album is coming out in the next week for the Maddison collection so that clients who opt for this collection have a choice of two albums both very different in design.
