Phil & Nicola .....Auchen Castle wedding

Auchen Castle was the beautiful setting that Phil and Nicola chose for their special day. Nestling in the beautiful hills of the Borders the staff of Auchen Castle welcomed family and friends as they arrived to celebrate the marriage of these very lovely people. Although it was raining it didn't matter in the slightest to Nicola who looked so happy as she arrived to marry Phil.

I love this picture that Jesse took of the Phil's father reflecting...

The happy couple...

Guests enjoyed the falconry display where the birds swooped and circled in the impressive grounds of the castle, sometimes landing on the guests umbrellas! See this on the slideshow...

The impressive staircase at Auchen Castle was perfect for some group photographs.

It was great fun photographing your wedding and meeting some old school friends of mine who were guests at the wedding. Thanks for letting me capture your special day. Hope you are having a fab time on your honeymoon!

Russell & Charlotte marry at Comlongon...

Just finished photographing a lovely wedding at Comlongon Castle. Charlotte and Russell were married this afternoon with around 50 of their family and friends travelling up from Leeds to see them get wed. I have lots of photographs to edit from their special day and because all posts are better with a photograph here is one of them in a wood of bluebells it was definitely getting those shoes a little dirty Charlotte! Lots more pics to come in the next few days....

Michael & Gillian get married in Gretna Green.....

I love small intimate weddings. So what a pleasure it was to photograph Michael and Gillian's wedding last weekend with their two children Lucy and Valentina by their side as they exchanged vows at The World Famous Blacksmiths Shop in Gretna Green. Here are a few of some of my favourite images from their special day....

I started taking some photographs before the ceremony in their room at SMITHS as I knew that this would help everyone feel a little more comfortable with me as the day went on. This was Gillian who looked stunning!! getting ready in the Ash suite in Smiths.

With the flowers, rings and children ready we were all set to go to the ceremony although it was hard to pull Lucy (pictured here) away from the chocolate covered strawberries!!

Exchanging vows..

Then we walked back across to Smiths where the happy couple celebrated with pink champagne..

Little Valentina looked so cute...

The family....

Love this one of them relaxing together, good old champagne...

I hope you are having a great time back home with your family celebrating the happy news! Naomi x

Xavier, Cameron and Summer..photographing kids

Many years ago I started out as a school photographer and it has certainly helped me in the work that I do today when I photograph bridesmaids and pageboys at weddings. Although I don't advertise the fact that I do portraits I like to do one every now and then as it is fun and something a little different. On Saturday morning I headed north over the border into Scotland to photograph these three great kids Cameron, Xavier and Summer.

Sometimes it can be difficult breaking the ice with kids and getting them to feel comfortable with you but after a few minutes we were having fun. Big thanks to Billy the bear whose help I really appreciated I couldn't have done it without him and here he is...A tip for photographers if you can get the favourite toy off the child then this can really work to your advantage!!

I love the black and white of the three of them together and although it probably won't be the one that Grandma chooses I like the cheeky look on their faces and the way they are relaxed...

After taking some inside we headed to a local beauty spot they like to go to and took some of the kids outside, I love this one of Xavier, what a little cutie..

Thanks to Yann and Sharon for the cake and tea afterwards..loved it!

SMITHS LAUNCH NIGHT

Last Thursday night Smiths Hotel welcomed around 50 guests to their new and improved 5* hotel to show off their new lounge and private dining areas. I was asked to go along and photograph the new areas for their website. The night was a great success with amazing food, Strawberry Daiquiris and cocktails on arrival and guests were entertained by the brilliant singer/guitaristJohn Penn.
Here are a few of my favourite images of the night....

The new lounge and some of the fab food...

The bar and new private dining areas..

Outside the hotel...

Thanks for inviting me to a great night!

David & Joanne.....Beautiful classy wedding

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing David and Joanne. What a beautiful day they had the weather was perfect! The day started for me at the church capturing David and his ushers and they were very easy and good fun to photograph!

Joanne and her father arriving in the car together...

The first look when David and Joanne saw each other for the first time and Joanne looking naturally beautiful and reflective!

Outside with the sun shining in the pretty gardens of the church...

We took a little detour on the way to Smiths Hotel for some romantic photographs.

I actually thought that David and Joanne were a little shy when I first met them but on the day they were amazing to work with and they had a cool calmness about them that I loved! They didn't object to any of my suggestions they just posed as I asked and I think they look amazing! Their day was tinged with a little sadness as Joanne's sister who would have been bridesmaid was stuck abroad unable to get back because of the flight restrictions in the UK from the recent volcano in Iceland.

Back at Smiths we took some pictures inside the new lounge area of the hotel. I love these images.

Thanks for letting me photograph your big day I really enjoyed being with you! I hope you enjoy choosing the photos for your album and that Joanne's sister enjoys the little slideshow (CLICK HERE) that I have put together for her! Enjoy your honeymoon!

Simon & Joanne.... A Whirlwind Romance!

They met just four months ago but each one knew that they had met the right one and after waiting a long time to meet that special someone they decided not to hang around but to get married!

Joanne loved the idea of a small intimate wedding in a castle and so Comlongon Castle was selected and they managed to organize their wedding in just three weeks! With their three children beside them I was honored to see this fabulous couple who are so in love tie the knot! They are stunning and are very easy to photograph. The camera loves Joanne as you can see she is very photogenic!

Meet Joanne and Simon....... Simon surprised Joanne by wearing a kilt .... well they were getting married in Scotland!

Exchanging vows up in the ancient keep..

Love these pics of them together!

By the cosy fire in the drawing room...

It rained the entire day but this didn't spoil the photos they even were up for getting a bit wet!

I really had a great time with you all what a lovely family you are and I hope the extended family back home enjoy the celebrations with you now that they know you are married!
